Locating where the water shows up is the fastest way to diagnose a washer leak.
Leaks at the Front (Front-Loaders)
A torn or mouldy door boot seal lets water escape during the wash.
Fix: Inspect the rubber boot for tears and debris; replace it if cracked.
Leaks at the Back
Loose or worn fill-hose connections drip whenever the water valve opens.
Fix: Hand-tighten the hose couplings and replace any hose older than five years.
Leaks Underneath
A failing drain pump or internal hose usually drips from the base during draining.
Fix: This needs the cabinet opened — have a technician trace the internal leak.
