Electric ovens heat with two elements. A failed one is the most common no-heat cause and easy to spot.
Inspect the Bake Element
The lower element often blisters or breaks, leaving the oven cold.
Fix: Look for a visible break or bright spot; a damaged element should be replaced.
Test the Broil Element
If only the top heat is dead, the upper broil element has failed.
Fix: A technician confirms with a continuity test and swaps it out.
Check the Bake Igniter (Gas)
On gas ovens, a weak igniter fails to open the gas valve, so the oven never lights.
Fix: A glowing-but-not-lighting igniter is the classic sign for replacement.
