When nothing happens at all, the problem is upstream of the motor. Check these in order.
Power Supply
Electric dryers need a 240V double-pole breaker; a half-trip can leave the dryer dead.
Fix: Fully reset the breaker and confirm the cord is seated in the outlet.
Door Switch
The dryer will not start unless the door switch registers the door as closed.
Fix: Listen for the click as you close the door; a dead switch is a cheap fix.
Start Switch or Thermal Fuse
A failed start switch or a blown thermal fuse can prevent startup entirely.
Fix: A technician tests both with a meter and replaces the faulty one.
